Areas of Concentration
|
My general research interests are brazing and joining, dissimilar materials interfaces, physical and mechanical metallurgy, composite processing, failure analysis, and design of lightweight structures. Specific research areas include reactive air brazing (RAB) of oxide ceramics, vacuum brazing of ceramics and metals, brazing of porous materials, AlN surface reactivity, and ceramic to metal brazing. My students’ projects tend to focus on processing, interface microstructural characterization, reaction kinetics, and mechanical property evaluation.
