Engineering Leadership Education and Development (E-LEAD)
Make a difference, Be a Leader, Become an Engineer
Engineers are leaders -- they imagine the future and make it happen. Alfred University's
E-LEAD initiative is designed to provide scholarships and leadership training to young women and men who are dedicated to making a difference.
Initially funded by the National Science Foundation (Award # DUE-1060482), the E-LEAD initiative is designed specifically to address some of the social and environmental factors that contribute to underrepresentation of women in engineering.
The initiative has three main components:
(2)
(3)
scholarships for male and female engineering students who are committed to
broadening participation in engineering
leadership training for E-LEAD scholars
